Found it

We went out orchid hunting again this time to Merkinch Nature reserve on the edge of Inverness.
The sun was shining through the clouds making beams of light above the Beauly Firth. A heron fished at the edge of the tide. Oysters catchers flew as a dog walked past, Mallard ducks swam in the remaining water. A few black headed gulls fished along the current line. A large flock of gulls were noisily talking to each other further out. We spot a small head, looks like an otter but it disappears from sight.
We walk along the path , cow parsley lines the route and sea pinks are still blooming on the sea wall. Sparrows disappear into the hedges as we approach. It's eight o'clock and the sun is hiding so the lighting is dim.
We walk down the decked slope to the pond , bog cotton fills the surrounding area blowing gently in the breeze. Thistles are in bud and the pink of the ragged robin break up the greens and whites. A few Buttercups and more cow parsley seen. We hear the train approaching , hooting as it approaches the crossing which leads to the canal.
Still have nt found what I'm really looking for.
Through a grassed area leads us back to a wetter area. Mike walks in front not spotting the Northern Marsh Orchids at the side of the path. Nice specimens with most of the buds open. A little further on and I spot the Lesser Butterfly Orchid , the one I was hoping to see. Probably abit too early as most flowers were still in bud but still a nice find. It is becoming rare with a decline of 30% through out Great Britain since 1960.
I wish I had remembered it was night scented as I might have  attempted to get down and sniff it :)
Several rabbits darted from our gaze as we turned the corner to return to the car.
It's been a pleasant day so much better than forecast and I managed some gardening, Mike mowed the lawn and we popped to Udale bay for a quick look at the birds. At least 30 curlew, mallards, swans , lapwing, black headed gulls, terns and lapwings and a possible chick.
Enjoyed taking photos of the rusty boats along from Newhall point.
