Warriston bridge

The graffiti that has appeared on the stonework here triggers two contrasting reactions in me: on the one hand, I am saddened by the careless disregard it shows towards the the skill and labour of the stonemasons who built the bridge and by the denial of its aesthetic quality; on the other, on this sunny midsummer evening, it actually looks quite jolly.
