Wobbly

In an ideal world
a Dad doesn’t wobble
at the first sign of trouble.

He stands firm.

And when your castles in the air
begin to fall apart
he rebuilds them for you
on solid ground.

But some of us Dads
don’t quite know where to start
when things go wrong.

Our structures aren’t necessarily rebuilt
with every single piece
in the right place.

We have a go
but it’s all a bit wonky.
There’s still some wobble.

Hopefully, when you’re older,
you’ll realise that being a Dad
can be hard

and you’ll forgive us
and send us a card.
