March of the Gillies 2015

Today was the annual re-enactment of the  march of the Gillies from Gillies Hill to the Borestone at the Battle of Bannockburn site. Although there were slightly fewer participants today , the event was well attended and still demonstrated the strength  feeling against the re-activation of quarrying on the historic hill.The walkers were addressed at the Borestone by the recently elected MP for Stirling, Steven Paterson , who was born and grew up in Cambusbarron .
Stirling Council's decision on the quarrying proposals is still awaited.
