Stepping off the Hampster Wheel...
Backblip
For a little while at least :-)
After not getting away at Easter for a couple of nights as we had planned (due to the flare up of arthritis in my knee), David booked us into the Old Mill Inn, Pitlochry for one night, taking advantage of the fact Marion was at ours doing an overnight with Alan.
Hectic day of prep getting the as much of the food prepared for tomorrow's get together with Dr Twitcher, Elf and LeeAnne. David got in sharp from work, grabbed the overnight bag while I quickly got changed, then we headed off. It was all such a rush, we could have been eloping! Hahahaha!
Managed to get into relaxation mode on the 45 minute journey to our destination and by the time we arrived at our (gorgeous!) room, I was less harassed and more than ready for dinner and a wee G&T.
Went downstairs at 8.00pm and the place was jumping. Great atmosphere and a real mix of ages. The manager was great and got us set up at a table in the bar but after taking our drink orders, came back and said he had a table for us in the restaurant. Brilliant.
Food was delicious as was the very fine Rioja. No room for dessert and after listening to the live musician for a short while, the lure of the luxurious bedroom, with its nespresso coffee maker, Iain Burnett choccies that David had bought and my comfy jammies proved too much. Woo hoo, sex, drugs and rock n roll! :-)))
A perfect and much needed pause from the hurly burly of life.
(And I fell asleep to the sound of the waterfall outside our window as the water headed to the Mill's water wheel. Bliss :)
