Over And Out

Big day out to Durham to see England vs New Zealand in the final match of the ODI. Play started at 10.30, we donned sunnies to shade our eyes from the glare of the ... flood lights. Yes, it was overcast and grey. NZ batting first gave lots of excitement up to lunch at 2.30. Lunch turned in to a 3 hour break whilst the rain teased us with its stop-start-stop-start-stop. After touring the ground several times, checking out the various gangs in fancy dress (a team of Buddhist monks, several bananas, Mexicans, jockeys, the Stig, Princess Leia and some Stormtroupers, a dozen bishops, ... and more), the only thing left was the bar.
3 hours is a long time to wait so when play resumed and England came in to bat, the crowd were a bit stunned when several quick wickets were taken. But, the guys hung on to the bitter end keeping us biting our nails until almost the last ball. What a win.
Exciting? Cricket?
