Black Lily
Lovely weather this morning. The sun was shining on the foxgloves, so I ventured out with the camera and macro lens.
Ultimately, this black lily scoops the shot of the day. A job lot was on sale at Aldi's a couple of weeks ago, so I bought one. The colour is ravishing.
I gave Len a slate painted with a comic postcard joke for Fathers' Day.
Having printed out and trimmed all the Gothla showcase tickets and packed them up ready to post to Bridie, it was time to change to go to Leicester for a concert with the Tudor Choir and the Knighton Park Chamber Orchestra at Christchurch on Clarendon Park Road.
Our rendition of Haydn's Nelson Mass was much better last week. Several factors contributed. I was relieved when it was over.
The second half was fun. After singing Land of Hope and Glory, to which we all waved Union Jacks, and Jerusalem, the orchestra played Henry Wood's Fantasia on Sea Songs, which culminated in Rule Britannia! More flag waving.
