After the storms

What a blustery day! I was due to lead a short walk for my walking group tonight, through the woods. Earlier in the day I thought this was out of the question due to the high winds. Luckily they were worse where I live, near the sea, than inland, and they'd dropped by the evening.

So in the event the woodland walk went ahead, we were quite sheltered and no-one got hit on the head by falling branches. Before the walk I went to look at my favourite tree, an ancient yew in a nearby churchyard. I just love the shapes and colours. I thought this shot looked a bit like an old, wise, gnarly creature. It's probably seen a few storms in its time.
