Lavenda del Lago

First rubbish nights sleep for me last night.....but nonetheless we were up and down for breakfast at 9.

Today we took another ferry across the lake, this time to visit one of the larger lake resorts, Desenzano, which is popular with holiday makers.

The ferry ride only takes 35 minutes and is direct. As we arrived it was so obviously less busy than Bardolino yesterday. We were able to stroll along the waterfront and explore at our own pace.

Today's blip is of the little shacks set up in a small wooded area, selling natural lavender and associated trinkets. We could smell the scent of lavender wafting on the warm air.
The locals had decorated the bridge over the waterway, and the trees with lilac coloured ribbons and mats leading tourists to the attraction.

We had a leisurely lunch of pizza, spritzer Aperul and water, before heading back on the 3.30 ferry. We had a lazy read for an hour or two on the balcony this afternoon.

I have to say all the areas we've visited are absolutely lovely, but secretly we are quite pleased that we plumped for Sirmione as our base.

Interestingly, a lot of the ferry stops have similar names, which some people find co fusing, such as Desenzano, Cisano, Limione or as hub likes to refer to them, Disarronno, Cinzano and Limoncello :-)

We are off on another tour tomorrow, so will tell all then.....forecast isn't great, there might be some rain apparently.... at least it will be warm rain ;-)

Oh yes, still having fun :-D
