I know that a field of barley may not be an obvious entry for 'soft' but whenever I see one blowing in the wind I always thinks it looks like a soft field of fur and it doesn't disappoint when you stand in the middle running your hands over the tops of the plants...it still feels soft, even if you look a bit bonkers...
