Sip Drip

He's anxious to get that drink.  It looks like he wants to get as close as possible to the refreshing water on this sunny, hot day.  There's not a lot of  critter action during this part of the day...at the peak of of the intensity of the sun and of the heat...but the quail may appear at any time. 

It took a long time for them to take to the water in the dishes - at least until the kids were teens last year.  Before that they would simply run right over them or hop off the wall when they came across one.  Now, as you can see, they can slobber with the best of them.

This is the second time I've blipped a sipping quail.  I love when I catch them.  :-)
