Somebody always has to be first

Leadership is just as applicable in plant life as it is with humans. In a week from now this whole field will be ablaze with yellow sun flowers. And the leader will be just one in a crowd.

It has been a wonderful day with a friend who really knows his butterflies. Stars of the day included Wood Brown, Lulworth Skipper, Great Banded Grayling (see Extra picture), Dryad, Marbled Fritillary, Adonis, Small, Holly and Common Blues, Clouded Yellow and many more. We shall be going back to these sites later in the week.
