Yellow
It's been a very grey day and this afternoon the skies became black as though it would soon pour down.
I had a great morning, packing and answering the odd query from some of the Dolomites group. I realised a while ago that I needed to be on top of the information as much as I could be. Today I was asked if the hotel has a laundry service so I had to find out. (No, but there is a launderette a few miles away!)
This afternoon I gardened. I wanted to plant all the young plants that have been waiting to go into tubs. I've sorted out the boiler room ready for the new freezer. I even swilled water over the patio and brushed it so that Bob won't notice how dirty it was when he comes to water the tubs in my absence! When we arrived here in 1999, there was a magnificent climbing rose on the back of the house. The flowers reached the roof. It soon became obvious that the rose was old and would break if we did not prune it, but we did not want to kill it off either. It was pruned and lived, but it has taken it years to be glorious again. It is now covered in flowers and only up to the top of the ground floor.
The poppies are still wonderful too, but the warmth of the yellow on a grey day won for my blip.
Now what have I forgotten to pack I wonder??
