High Society
Just a phone picture today; we went into London with friends to see 'High Society' at the Old Vic. The production is staged in the round, and what a superb show it was! Those of you who know the film which starred Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby would not be dissapointed, but the production did not try to recreate the film, instead adding its own style and humour. I believe it is the last production at the Old Vic under the leadership of Kevin Spacey; one of the first shows there after he took control was 'The Philadelphia Story' on which High Society is based as a musical, which we also saw and in which he took one of the parts. An appropriate end to his tenure and a show really well worth seeing.
This view of the Millennium Bridge leading over to St Pauls was taken on a walk along the South Bank before the show; afterwards, we went for a meal and have just arrived home, so I think viewing and commenting on Blips may have to wait for another day.
