Reptilian Herb

Lizard's tails of a completely different sort.  Commonly known as yerba mansa, or lizard tail, around here, these tiny aquatics brighten the shade.  when their seeds are ripe, the cone at the top of the flower drops off and floats downstream, spreading seeds along the way.
