One species each day (from my backyard)
Here's a Symphoricarpos alba (snowberry). It's not my favourite plant in the garden, but it's one of the species in my backyard. There are only a few stalks, surrounded by other stuff. I walk past them several times each day and a few berries are hanging on for dear life. Leaves have dropped off the branches long time ago. Many times I have wondered about when would be the best time to photograph them, but tonight I thought I'd better do it before they're gone. I have fond memories of them from long, long time ago (60's) though. There were extensive patches of these shrubs planted between the concrete apartment buildings where we lived. With my friends, we played hide and seek and pushed each other in the snow covered bushes on dark evenings. I still remember the fine, powdery snow melting on my face.
