Solitary Tree

If I am allowed to have one, this would be my favourite tree.  It is on Cooriedog Walk 2 around 'The Mound' near Skirling.  It is tall and elegant and has grown up sheltered by a plantation of conifers round about.  Without them I suspect it wouldn't be so tall or so elegant.

These protective conifers have now been cut down and it is now on its own positioned at the top of a rise in the path.  I hope it can continue to grow taller and more elegant but I fear its new exposure will have an impact.
