My Crazy Life! ;-)

Lottie The Vintage Caravan

So, yet another back blip.

Lottie had her first service in about fifteen years yesterday. I have owned her since 2007 and she used to be stored undercover in a farmers barn in the middle of the French countryside since the early 90's.

We used to get him (a.k.a the farmer!) to take her to the nearby campsite and we would use her once a year - well, I would and Grandpa would stay in the the rather lush and adjoining chambre d'hôtes.

After visiting the same French town for the bext part of six years and staying in an already grotty twenty-seven year old caravan we decided that Lottie should be repatriated to England where a full makeover could commence.

Lottie reached UK soil the best part of a year and a half ago. We have worked very hard, little and often ever since and now her renovations are finally complete.

This is her pictured after passing a full and enhanced caravan service, the only problem was a temperamental burner on her gas hob which wouldn't pose any issues and was not considered dangerous.

We now await August when we are going to take her to the Cotswolds to a caravan rally with about fifteen other good online friends of mine who are all vintage caravan enthusiasts.

If you see us on the road be sure to give us a good honk on your horn! ;-)

The added extra photo is what we saw the first time we met her on-site in France during the Spring of 2007 after buying her on eBay for £250!!! What a difference she is now aye! :-)

I will perhaps visit her again and do an internal before and after blip tomorrow.
