The photobomber
Our young Cornus controversa is flowering quite well this year. This is sometimes called the 'Wedding Cake' tree as the branches have a way of growing in tiers, sometimes accentuated by pruning. 'Tiers', I said, not 'tears'!
This lovely tree is a native of Japan, China and Taiwan and is quite hardy.
The orange flowers beneath are those of yesterday's Blip, the potted calceolaria, while emerging from the undergrowth is our resident feline photobomber, Rosie, whose turn it was to spend the afternoon in the garden with me.
