Mat rix

You would not believe how complicated the choosing of place mats can get.  All we wanted was some mats of decent quality, unpretentious, untwee and unnaff design, and of a suitable size.  

...oh, and it would be nice if the coasters matched, if there were large 'serving' mats that matched, and all at a price not exceeding that of a small car.

Boy, are slate table mats the 'in' thing.  One thing you can be sure of is that having spent the last nine months staring at slates the last thing that's going on our table, is slate.
