man risks life to save cygnet!

Another drama at the pond this evening. When I arrived it was obvious that the cygnet had become separated from it's parents by the boardwalk and none of them could get underneath it. This impasse seemed to go on for ages until a gent (David?) arrived to feed the ducks and worked out a strategy for getting them together. He tried enticing the swans on to the boardwalk with food but that didn't work. Bravely he then picked up the cygnet and quick as a flash carried it over to the parents. This caused the swans to react and he had to step back to avoid being pecked. See extra picture. A happy outcome for once at the pond and no sign of the heron this evening!
