Milan Courtyard...

...which we passed on the way to a really superb exhibition of photographs by Brassai.  It turns out (it's surprising what you discover on Google) that I blipped the same exhibition in Paris 16 months ago--my comment then has more on him.  We went on to the Brera, Milan's foremost art museum, to see some of our favorites--above all Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaus, very different from his other version of the same subject in London's National Gallery.

We then took a train to the town of Modane, just over the border in France. We'll go on to Lyon tomorrow--more then.
