The Villa Augustina

Both of my children did some time, attended this school for a few years.  Sumner from grade 4-6 and Logan from K-3.  At the time it was run by a group of nuns, called the Religious of Jesus and Mary.  They were independent of any church or governing body and were mostly a missionary group, dedicated to the education of the poor.  In the earlier years it was a boarding school, but later it was a day school and there was only one nun who actually taught there, though there were a few that lived on site.  About 10 years ago, the order decided they could no longer support it and a group of parents purchased the building from them and ran the school for the next ten years.  It closed a year ago as it became too costly to keep it up to "code" and has been for sale ever since.  There is talk of a developer buying it and turning it into condos.  

The sky was so blue and so full of these puffy clouds I thought this would demonstrate a beautiful old building on a perfectly beautiful summer day.
