Talent?
If you can't be bothered reading the below, here it is in short form. Went to NZ's Got Talent, it was awesome.
Actually had a really good day today.
Got up earl-ish and drove the 45 minutes to Epsom Girls Grammar, where the auditions for NZ's Got Talent were being held. The line was already huge at 9.30 :| The people said it would be about an hour to get through the line, and then half an hour to get through the hall to your audition. The former took 3 hours and the latter1 hour, for all of which I was nervous.
While I waited I saw people I knew, which was nice. See A, who is a brilliant singer and who dyed her hair black O.o, saw T, who wasn't even there for the auditions but who I nevertheless said hi to, and I think I saw someone from my form class.
Me and my mum (who studiously accompanied me the entire 4 hours) met these really nice people who had actually been standing behind us for the entire time, but who we really only talked to in the last half an hour or so :| They happen to randomly live two streets away from us, AND they actually need a singer/pianist in their band. Lucky coincidences much?
Finally got through to the auditions. Nerves wracking my entire body, I couldn't stop shivering. Just glad I didn't throw up although I'm sure I smelt vomit outside the audition rooms.
Went in to audition, where there was just one nice lady with a camera (there were lots of audition rooms and the producers come through and watch the recordings later). Was fearing that my mouth would gum up as it was so dry, or that I would stutter over words, or go to fast, or so many other possible things. But I didn't. Got the whole minute of song I was doing out and the lady said I was quite a good singer :D
Wish I knew yet whether I was in. Luckily Auckland is the last town they have to go to so we'll have the shortest wait to be told who got in. Some of the people were really intensely good, and I didn't even bring a back track, but I hope that I got in anyway. The auditions made me feel alive for the first time in ages so I want more, even if they were freaking scary. Hopefully the people that looked like idiots (there was one guy who looked like an acne-covered tomato with piercings) performed like idiots.
If you've read all of this, then well done :)
