Honister Pass
Alas, we had to leave the Lake District today. We returned to Keswick via Honister Pass, which is wild and craggy, and has a cafe at the top and a factory shop selling Lakeland slate.
We just stopped to take a photo. Not this one, which is from a rare roadside viewing point. Cumbrian landowners/farmers don't make it easy for tourists although I'm sure they appreciate the money that tourists bring in.
Awful on the M6. I don't even understand why the congestion builds up. Worse for those going north through Sandbach and queues were solid until way back on the A50.
