luck

Many times out of the corner of my eye I have seen fish jump out of the water. It has never occurred to me to actually try to take a photo of one of their jumps, as it has always just seemed quite impossible. While taking this photo I was fully focused on the Canada geese while they were cleaning themselves when a fish happened to jump out of the water. This isn't a particularly good photo composition wise, but I am quite please to have finally  captured a photo of a fish jumping out of the water!

Nature photography is definitely a combination of skill, patience, and yes, luck.

p.s. I'm likely taking a few days off from blipping, but look forward to being back : )
