Green Weevil

Today has been a great day for taking photos, but hard for choosing a blip!
This morning the Swallows were feeding their young on the power lines. I've added extras of the young ones shouting and an adult delivering their take away!!
This afternoon we went back to the sand dunes for a walk and saw so many insects it was a blippers dream! Butterflies, moth, flies, caterpillars and lizards in the undergrowth. Just bliss!!

This little weevil was on the same poppies that Great Garbo enjoys. I think he's quite cute and he reminds me of character in a Disney cartoon, or maybe James and the Giant Peach!

This evening NatWest Islands Games opens over here for a week. It's an international multi-sports event organized by the International Island Games Association with 24 competing islands or island groups with around 3000 competitors who will compete in 14 sports.

We're not sporty by any means but we'll probably pop along to something in the coming week.
