Flåm
We awoke to sunshine.....wahaay!
After breakfast (outside!) we made our way through some spectacular scenery to Flåm where we settled in at a lovely site with beautiful wild flowers everywhere. We crossed over the road and caught the train to Myrdal - the steepest rail journey on a normal track. It was impressive - clinging on to the edge of the mountain. We stopped to admire an amazing waterfall, Kjosfossen. Everyone got off the train to take photos (and get soaked by the spray) when suddenly some haunting music began and a mystical creature appeared up high on the cliff, dancing and trying to lure people to the mountain. It was great - and I thought a great summer job for Semi-Q!!
Back down again and more fish for tea! This time sitting out in the sun.
Now planning tomorrow's route. After chatting to some Norwegian 'neighbours' we may make some adjustments - hairpin bends on our original route may be too stressful!
Things to remember from today:-
Humongous Norwegian pancakes
Very long tunnels
Cafés with blankets to wrap around you when it gets a bit chilly
Beautiful green grass and incredible waterfalls
It's difficult to take photographs that do justice to incredible views
Chocolate and banana crepes just before bedtime
