New Zealand fantail or Piwakawaka(Maori)

This familiar and enchanting little athletic bird is plentiful here at Lake Tarawera and accompanies us as we walk across the park to the water. We are disturbing midges as we walk and this means "lunch" for these pretty wee creatures. They are so bold, flitting around me and resting on twig or jetty less than 20 cm away from me.
Lots of rainbow trout fisherfolk out in boats on a calm lake under a cloudless sky today, the last weekend of this lake's season till the beginning of the new season on October 1st.
