Prickly Pear

This is part of a wall mural on a Mexican grocery store and restaurant combo. If it is hard to get your bearings, there is a recessed doorway on the right. You will see some cactus, or nopales, a popular cuisine item. On top are the prickly pear fruit which are quite enjoyable. When we lived in New Mexico we would enjoy the fruit and spit out the seeds in the yard. They sprout like weeds next season! Can you say cacti?

This was appropriately blipped about 11:30 at night, and there was only residual street light and the iPhone flash. I previously shot this wall a few months ago when it was a blank green slate, with a very fine tree shadow, for Mono Monday.

This is a good primer for a short "Abstract Thursday" run starting July 3. Please join me and get your abstract thoughts together. July only. Tag the first one AT1.
