View from the Shard

Followed by a trip up the Shard. this was taken from the oustside viewing platform on level 72 where there are plants and deck chairs.
Taking inspiration from the spires of London churches and the masts of tall ships depicted by the 18th-century Venetian painter Canaletto, Renzo Piano designed The Shard is a spire-like sculpture emerging from the River Thames.
