Island Number 866.
Despite cold and rain this morning, my Editor wanted to take a boat trip which took us amongst the islands of the district of 1000 Islands, and out into the St. Laurence Seaway. There is an official count of 1864 islands. The criteria for an island to be designated an "Island" include: being surrounded by water 365 days of the year, being at least a foot in diameter and having at least one living tree growing upon it! Over the years, some pretty bizarre structures in the form of castles have been erected on some of the islands. We passed this rather modest cottage for more regular folk which seems to occupy every last square inch of its island.
