Kingfisher

These amazing bright blue creatures are definitely addictive.  I decided to call in to see how they are progressing with the nest and it wasn't very long before the male appeared.

He flashed along the water and then settled on this branch, where he stayed for a while before flying off again.

About ten minutes later, he returned, popped into the nest a couple of times and then flew back. This time he settled in a big tree for a good few minutes before returning to this favoured perch.

Talking to the regulars, it seems that this week it is the female who is brooding and he is a regular visitor.
