Swinging cherub

Today's main job was a repair to this 19th century French swinging cherub clock.  It has a patented escapement that allows the pendulum to swing from back to front rather than from side to side.  Add a cherub and it makes an interesting novelty clock.  This sort of clock is fairly uncommon.  I have only come across a couple in fifteen years.
