Ugly duckling

This cygnet made me smile today with its ugly duckling looks. The cygnets have grown a lot since I last saw them - here's my blip from three weeks ago.

Today I saw a coot nesting in amongst  the overhanging branches of one of the trees on the far bank, (where the coots had nested successfully last year, but where we saw a heron perching a couple of weeks ago), also a moorhen was nesting in a tree on the far bank, and I saw two little grebes for the first time, so maybe they will get nesting soon.

Back-blipped from 29th June - still some way to go before getting up to date.
