Summer in the City

I had an extremely early start today to catch a train down to London for a 9am meeting. It was warm on the tube in the rush hour and it was good to get out in to the open, to walk down to the office building on the Southbank.

It was so hot in the afternoon when we emerged from the building after our meeting. we walked back towards London Bridge, and the cloudless sky was pierced with the dominating Shard building so I quickly grabbed a pic.

We caught our train back which was a fast direct train to Leicester, except it stopped at Wellingborough, and was terminated there with faulty breaks so everybody had to get off the train and wait for the next one, and then try to get on a train with another trainload of people!!!

I was glad to get home and to sit outside out in the garden with something cooling.
