It was sweltering at work today, although the outside temps have not yet hit 30 degrees. Over the next few days, as the heat index climbs, I can expect sauna-like conditions in my non-air conditioned, south-facing office. Unfortunately I do need to drive in for the next two days. Friday I will plan to work from home.

I don't mind the heat at all when I'm not at my desk. I love to be outside, soaking up the sun. Hence, a long walk through the woods and along the river this evening - where we spotted this family of swans a-swimming. And if you look amidst the trees on the far shore, you'll spot the roller-coaster that's been erected for the Saarner Kirmes. The annual town carnival opens this weekend and promises more nightly fireworks to terrorize my Tessa.
