2015 Wednesday -- Arts & Crafts
Wednesday in camp is what the staff refers to as "free day." Most families decide to either hike into Avalon or to take the chartered boat that the camp provides. For many years we have chose the "Avalon Option" on Wednesday, but we know that Avalon is a very, very small tourist town and taking an 8-year old little boy there would probably not provide us with the best experience.
Tristan was rather disappointed because he heard other children talking about going into Avalon and he wanted to go too. We did not give into his whining and the three of us stayed in camp.
Tristan occupied himself doing various activities throughout the day, but one that I think thrilled him the most was making our "Family Banner" during the arts & crafts option that happened after lunch.
Not going into Avalon caused our day to be extremely long and lovely. We enjoyed it immensely. The evening activities were line dancing and squaring dancing outdoors on the basketball court. I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Good night from Catalina Island,
