Garden Party

This was the day of The Royal Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and members of the Royal Family toured the avenues of guests and spoke with many as hundreds looked on.

All under the watchful eye of The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, complete with an eagle feather in their cap and long-bows.

Military bands played, tea, dainty sandwiches, hand-made biscuits and cakes were served as guests promenaded with old friends or people they had just met. It was that type of friendly relaxed occasion, unique and special, memorable for those fortunate to attend.
