The Big Cruise Day 35: New direction
In this tale of our Big Cruise, this picture is significant for a number of reasons.
We are just about to leave the very top lock of Heartbreak Hill (see previous blip). We are now high up in the world at Kidsgrove, just to the north of Stoke-on-Trent. Phew! If we were now to continue straight on we would very soon arrive a major navigational challenge - Harecastle Tunnel. More of that in around 9 days time.
But we will be turning right - under that bridge - onto the Macclesfield Canal. This will take us even higher in the world and to new delightful adventures, we hope. New territory for us.
And to a complete change of mood I suspect - take notice of all that blue sky! We've seen very little of that phenomenon for the past five weeks. And the crew isn't wearing a fleece or wet weather gear.
[Explanation: Big Cruise Blips begin on 9th April (where there's an introduction) and last nearly 8 weeks with a break in the middle. I am catching up with the back-blipping]
