Diary of an Edinburgher

Treats for all

Apparently there was terrific thunder and lightning last night. I didn't hear a thing. Up the Hill this morning. Wore my gillet, just in case. Didn't need it, but after yesterday, the lesson - as if I needed one - has been learned.

The car park was full, the day was glorious... How many dogs and dog walkers did we meet? One. A big black lab. And it wouldn't even look at poor wee Archie, desperate to play. But he did lots of running around anyway.

It was such a nice morning we intended to have a seat up at the top. But there were people already on the only bench. One of the two people started waving at us. An ex-colleague we haven't seen for a while. Good to catch up. She thought dog borrowing was an excellent idea, and expressed an interest in borrowing Archie...

Archie and I spent most of the afternoon watching tennis. JR went shopping and got a few treats for everyone. An M&S meal deal for us (I got very excited) and various items for Archie (he got very excited) - training treats, a couple of cheap toys, a collapsible water dish, a toothbrush and paste, posh kibble and shampoo. But the one he liked best was the antler. At least, that was the only one he was allowed for now.

Would you want Murray's sweaty wrist band?
