Sunset

PHEW! Its been sooooo hot today. Not complaining just saying. I cannot remember a day this hot. The kids at school were not allowed out at lunchtime because it was too hot. A shame in a way as the classrooms were stiflingly hot. It was our move up day, and as I had no teacher ( she is on holiday - NQT so not really with us until September.) I was a bit of a floater. In the afternoon I went with the other year 6 teacher and we took the class out on the field. It was breezy, but still so hot.  

This evening was not much cooler and I decided not to walk Indie. Then after I had finished all the jobs I bundled him in the car and we went to Ferry Meadow - it was shut!  All the gates had been locked which I was surprised about as I thought they would be locked a lot later than 9. So chasing the sunset and in hope of a paddle we went to the Mere. Sunset we got but no paddle, the geese were all at the waters edge.

I have put Isabell in a crate in the garage as I don't think she will make it through the night. She didn't go to bed with the other girls. She is one of our youngest hens and a great layer, so a real shame.
