Into the night

Another long day today after a week of long days, this one stretching after dark. We worked 7 am - 9 pm, harvesting for farmer's market and planting the remainder of urgent crops (tomatoes, summer squash, and cucumbers) before the boss departs on personal business.

This is volunteer-turned-intern Veronica putting together our first basil order of the year around 9 o'clock. Talk about crunch time. Harvesting herbs is especially enjoyable for the abundant fragrances that result--the whole packing shed smelled like basil while she was doing this.
