Water Fall

The subject for my wee weekly challenge.  I was sitting by the soothing little pond with the fountain in back of the cabin trying to recover from our shopping trip to Galiano for supplies which included carrying a bunch of lumber thinking this might have to do --  It’s a mini waterfall but longer than normal as the water level in the pond does goes down quite fast with all the thirsty animals.


The animals  also use the large concrete birdbath that sits almost 3 feet high on a large tree stump.  This morning I watched the deer from my outdoor shower about 30 feet away and managed to get the camera as they both came back for more.    it’s the perfect height for the adult deer but the smaller younger one has to stand up a bit on the stump with their back feet to reach the low level of water in the birdbath.  The rain barrels are emptied out and now we use the cold water at the beginning of a quick shower as part of the refill.  I couldn’t resist using these 2  for the extra photos…the young one first.
