Seeds?

I've noticed these in the garden recently. Purely because I'm not really a gardener and I tend to leave things to see what happens rather than pull them up when finished flowering. These are what are left from my white irises (found here). I'm not sure what they will change into but I thought they were an interesting photograph.

Nearly Friday ....... then the weekend, yippee!
