Down in the grasses....

It was much cooler today (thank goodness!) so I went for a little walk to the Quarry lake area of Southwater CP to see the beautiful Marbled whites. After I had taken a few shots of them, and a cheeky Small skipper I went to the other side of the country park to see how the Bee orchids were getting on.Sadly I couldn't find one anywhere (probably picked by an un-educated child), Southwater CP is just becoming a big play park, with the wildlife being squashed into a smaller and smaller space each day...it is heartbreaking.
While I was in the long grass looking for the orchids I found this little grasshopper, I am not sure which species he is, but I thought he looked really sweet sitting on the curled grass leaf.
