An Irish Guy Abroad

New Ireland Review

Vol. 1 - No.1 The first nine issues of the 1894 Literary Review of the year. A fascinating time in Irish / English politics. Lloyd George tries to set up home rule, the conservatives reject it earning themselves the name Tory which is the Irish (Gaelic) for coward, a name that still lives on. Sadly so does the conservative party.

I take some comfort in knowing that conservatives are reputed to have more nightmares than happy people, I can't remember where I read that fact, or if indeed it is just a wish.  ;-)
