Rothiemurchus, Surrey?
Spending time with my Mum this week has revealed lots of family stories that I've either never heard or, just possibly, not remembered.
One was about the 'christmas tree' in one corner of the garden.
On a trip to the Cairngorms, about 35 years ago, my folks came across a tiny self-seeded seedling in the middle of a path. Rather than trample on it they picked it and eventually planted it in a pot at our house in Northern Ireland.
When they moved to Surrey the pot came too and the little tree was planted in a shady corner of the new garden - the little tree is now about seven feet tall.
