Tyninghame

If it were possible to chose the weather for a woodland interment, then today's would have been perfect. Sun and heat on the road but cool and peaceful amongst the trees at the graveside with silence broken by bird song.

His Lordship and I had time before the service to sit awhile at the little Tyninghame Smithy for a coffee. I took this blip of the village, which is chocolate box pretty with its white cottages, and red pantiled roofs.

There were poppies dotted along the grass verges of the road to East Linton but as my second picture shows, I've  missed them in their hey day, although the seed heads look quite pretty in themselves.
