Banded Demoiselle
Really enjoyed my Dragonfly/Damselfly workshop day, and we got some sunshine which brought them all out. Saw lots of different one's i hadn't seen before and learnt a fair bit too. There's me thinking i had been seeing different ones when i'd been out on my own, and it turns out it had been different colours of male/female and youngsters in a different colour again. Even so in this area there are 26 different species to spot.
I took 74 shots, so it was a hard choice, i chose this one as it shows a few different ones. Now for the clever bit that i learned today, in this capture, Male banded demoiselle (calopteryx splendens) Are you impressed now !!
